The Christian life is not only about receiving God's grace. We are also called to carry the hope of Christ into our families, communities, workplaces, and world.
Scripture
Matthew 28:18–20, Acts 1:8
Notes
Jesus did not call His followers simply to sit and watch.
He called them to go.
At the end of Matthew's Gospel, Jesus gives His disciples what we know as the Great Commission: go, make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to follow His commands.
This was not a suggestion.
It was a mission.
And that mission still belongs to the Church today.
But going does not always mean traveling to another country.
Sometimes going means walking across the street.
Sometimes it means encouraging a coworker.
Sometimes it means serving your community.
Sometimes it means sitting with someone who is hurting.
Sometimes it means telling your children about Jesus.
Sometimes it means forgiving someone when forgiveness is difficult.
The mission of God begins wherever God has placed you.
